Meet Our Team

Joan Collins brings years of leadership, compassion, and experience to her role as General Manager at Nouveau Marc by Barclay House. Born in Lowestoft, England, and raised in the French Quarter, she’s called Metairie home since high school. Joan holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, along with a State of Louisiana Insurance License. She has also volunteered with CASA, supporting children and families in need.

Joan began her career in home care and later moved into senior living, working in sales and operations with companies like Emeritus and Brookdale Senior Living. After a brief time running her own photography studio, she returned to the field she loves—helping seniors live with dignity, comfort, and joy.

At QSLM, Joan values the supportive leadership and close-knit community. She takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for residents and enjoys being part of their daily lives. Outside of work, she spends as much time as possible with her grandchildren, who range in age from 7 months to 18 years.

Jo Boyd is the Director of Wellness at Nouveau Marc by Barclay House. She is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her bachelor's degree in Nursing and her master's in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas. She is a register nurse with over 30 years' experience in Labor and Delivery Nursing (Director of Women Services), Surgical Nursing, Home Health Care (Administrator of Nursing), and Utilization Management(Nurse Utilization Administrator). She has certifications in Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC_MNN, Obstetric and neonatal Quality and safety (C-ONQS), American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), and as a Clinical Care Specialist (CCS_HH).

Jo's favorite part of working with seniors is having the opportunity to build meaningful connection with them. She loves hearing their life stories and learning from their experiences. She admires their wisdom and strength and finds that it is truly an honor to support them in this season of their lives. "Helping them maintain dignity, independence, and joy gives me a deep sense of purpose," she says. "Families often come to us during times of stress or transition, and I take pride in being someone they can rely on." Her favorite part of working at a QSLM community is the sense of family and teamwork. She also describes how she enjoys being on such a committed team: "Everyone is committed to giving our residents the best care possible, and that shared passion really shows. It’s fulfilling to be part of a team that truly puts residents first and works together to make a difference every day."

When she's not working, Jo enjoys spending time with her three children and her seven grandchildren. They keep her busy and fill her heart with joy. She also enjoys volunteering with the first responders’ team at her church, Healing Place, which allows her to continue serving others in meaningful ways. She also loves doing arts and crafts; finding small creative projects help her to relax and recharge.
