Our Beginnings
Inspired by the relationship of his son Blake and his son's grandmother, Glenn Barclay co-founded QSL Management brand in 2008 with the opening of The Blake. With an aging mother-in-law, he was unable to find senior housing options that provided enough socialization, care, or supervision to give his family peace of mind. This personal dissatisfaction was a major catalyst for the establishment of The Blake brand.
Glenn's mother-in-law Bertile, also the mother of his partner Judy Belk, was one of the first residents to call QSL Management home. Many of the elements, policies, and standards that we adhere to today were influenced by Blake and his grandmother, including our commitment to intergenerational and community engagement programming.
That relationship has also inspired our company’s vision to provide each resident with the world-class care, exceptional service, and compassion we would want for our loved ones. Our Barclay, Barclay House, and Glenncrest brands all pay homage to Glenn's legacy of connection, dedication, and excellence. As we continue to grow as a company, we strive to stay true to Glenn's original ideal of making each QSLM community a place where the bonds of friendship and family can be felt throughout.
