Martie Ewest is the Director of Sales at Barclay House of Augusta. She was born and raised in the CSRA. She has 25 years of experience in the Senior Living industry in various roles. What she loves most about working with Seniors is the ability to have a positive impact on their lives and offering support to families in need. Martie’s favorite part about working at Barclay House of Augusta is “I love being a part of a team that is dedicated to providing compassionate care to residents and peace of mind to their families”. When she is not working, Martie enjoys spending time with her large family. She also enjoys reading, antiquing and traveling.

Daylee Thompson
Director of Business Operations

Daylee Thompson is the Director of Business Operations at Barclay House of Augusta. She was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Counseling from Liberty University. Before coming to Barclay House, she was a receptionist in veterinary hospitals for 2 years, and prior to that, she was a funeral service assistant and receptionist. Her favorite part of working with seniors is learning every resident’s story and their unique experiences, especially their love stories. Her favorite part of working at the Barclay House is being with the residents. “Each and every one holds a special place in my heart with their quirks, stories, and charms,” she says.
When she isn’t working, she spends her time reading, playing piano, enjoying nature at her family’s farm, and spending time with my husband and their dog, a German Shepherd named Sergeant.

Heather Henderson
Director of Activities

Heather Henderson serves as the Director of Activities at Barclay House of Augusta, bringing over a decade of experience in senior living engagement. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Heather transitioned into senior care following a successful 15-year career in retail management.
Her favorite part of working with seniors is the opportunity to bring joy into their lives and to help ensure they maintain a happy, healthy, and fulfilling quality of life. She finds true purpose in creating meaningful experiences and fostering connections that brighten each resident’s day.
What Heather values most about working at Barclay House is the chance to make a real difference alongside a team that shares her compassion and dedication to senior care.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending quality time with her amazing husband and son. She loves hiking, camping, and embracing any adventure that brings them closer as a family.

Yolanda Johnson
Reunion Program Coordinator

Yolanda serves as the Reunion Program Coordinator here at Barclay House of Augusta. Originally born in North Carolina, she has called the Augusta area home since the age of six.
With a strong background in healthcare, Yolanda holds a CNA certification from Remedy Health Career Center of Evans and additional certifications as a CMA and Certified Dementia Practitioner from her time at Benton House. Before transitioning into healthcare, she successfully owned and operated a cake bakery.
Yolanda's favorite part of working with seniors is creating cherished memories and bringing joy to the residents every day. She takes pride in going above and beyond to ensure they are happy, smiling, and laughing often.
Outside of work, Yolanda enjoys cooking, shopping, and spending quality time with her husband and family. As a mother of five and a newly proud grandmother, she also devotes time to caring for her mini farm, which includes chickens, barn cats, and mini goats.

Chela Paupulaire
Director of Memory Care

Chela Paupulaire serves as the Director of Memory Care at Barclay House of Augusta. Originally from Haiti, she immigrated to New Jersey in 1995. Chela is a Licensed Practical Nurse, having graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in 2019, and she is currently in the process of obtaining her Assisted Living Administrator license.
Chela brings a broad and compassionate background in healthcare, including experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, and corrections. She began her career as a CNA and spent seven years working in group homes with individuals who are developmentally delayed before becoming a nurse.
Her favorite part of working with seniors is the wisdom they share—she sees them as “living, breathing libraries” full of insight and life experience for those willing to listen. At Barclay House of Augusta, she values the strong support system among her colleagues and the deep connections she forms with residents.
Outside of work, Chela devotes her time to her children, focusing on being present and making the most of their time together. She is a firm believer in good humanity, saying, “We are all reflections of the Most High’s love for mankind, seeking more love.”

Kenny Bell
Director of Facility Maintenance

Kenny Bell is the Director of Facility Maintenance at Barclay House of Augusta. Born in Fort Benning, Georgia, and raised in North Texas, Kenny proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, including two years stationed overseas in Iraq and Germany.
He brings 14 years of experience in maintenance and remodeling, including time as a business owner. What he enjoys most about working with seniors is hearing their expressive memories and life stories while assisting with tasks they may no longer be able to do themselves. For Kenny, it’s the meaningful connections that make his work deeply fulfilling.
Kenny’s favorite part about working at Barclay House is the opportunity to make a direct impact on residents’ quality of life alongside a compassionate and dedicated team. As he puts it, “Through listening and learning, I’m able to provide residents and their families with a service that brings comfort and peace of mind.”
Outside of work, Kenny enjoys camping with his family and dogs, grilling out, and traveling whenever he can.
