Victor Smith is a seasoned healthcare leader with over 32 years of experience, including 26 years dedicated to senior living. As Executive Director of The Blake at Flowood, Victor leads with a spirit of compassion and integrity, rooted in his deep passion for serving older adults, especially those living with dementia. His leadership is marked by empathy, uplifting energy, and a strong commitment to excellence in care.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Victor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Jackson State University. He is a Certified Phlebotomist Instructor and Dementia Care Practitioner, with a career grounded in clinical knowledge and personal connection. From mentoring staff to building meaningful relationships with residents and families, Victor brings both heart and professionalism to his work.

Guided by Ephesians 4:32—“Be kind and compassionate to one another…”—he finds daily purpose in his faith and his family. Victor has been married to his wife, Tiosha, for 23 years, and together they are proud parents to their daughter, Skylar.

Outside of work, Victor enjoys staying active, boating, watching comedies, and traveling. Whether he’s leading a team or enjoying time on the water, he brings warmth, humor, and heart to everything he does. His favorite part of working with seniors is hearing their stories—real, vivid snapshots of history that offer wisdom, perspective, and lasting impact.

At QSLM, Victor feels honored to live out his calling in a field he has devoted his life to—making every day meaningful for the residents he serves.

Morgan Bailey is the Director of Sales at The Blake at Flowood. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Kinesiology, where she took many classes on aging and its effects on the body. Upon graduation, she started working with a caregiver company doing their sales and marketing and quickly realized how vital it was to be part of a community where she can really get to know the individuals that she is serving.

Her favorite part of working with seniors is getting to know each individual’s background and life story. “Each person is the main character in their own life story and it is so important to recognize each person as their own person and not just a side character in your own life,” she says. “Every individual in our building has experienced their own life and I love getting to spend time with them recounting those experiences.”

Her favorite part of working at The Blake is walking into a beautiful community every day and feeling surrounded by love as soon as she walks in. When she isn’t working, she enjoys working out and spending time with my friends and family.

Keyonna is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Public Health & Administration and a Minor in Psychology. Keyonna has years of experience in banking, customer service, long term care communities, and serving in healthcare. While she enjoys traveling and creating memories with her family, she loves caring for the residents and giving back to the community.

Vanessa has always believed in the power of meaningful moments. Her journey in senior care began in her childhood, serving alongside her mother and sister in local senior communities. Those early experiences sparked a deep, lifelong passion for honoring and uplifting senior adults—a passion that continues to guide her work today.

As Director of Activities, Vanessa brings heart, creativity, and dedication to every program, interaction, and celebration, ensuring that each day offers purpose, joy, and connection for the residents she serves. With years of experience in both assisted living and memory care, she understands the importance of honoring each person’s unique story. She thoughtfully designs activities that promote engagement, comfort, and a sense of belonging. More than that, Vanessa builds relationships with residents, families, and team members, rooted in trust, empathy, and genuine care.

At home, she enjoys life with her high school sweetheart of over 25 years and their four wonderful children. She finds joy in quiet downtime, spirited college football rivalries, and meaningful conversations.

For Vanessa, this role is more than a career—it’s her calling to serve with grace, love, and intention.

Haley Howell has been a dedicated team member at The Blake in Flowood for nearly four years. She began her journey as a Personal Assistant in Assisted Living and later transitioned into Memory Care, where her passion for resident engagement continued to grow. Her dedication and enthusiasm eventually led to her promotion as Assistant Director of Activities.
Haley loves connecting with residents and learning their life stories, finding both wisdom and inspiration in their experiences. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, fishing, and being with family.

James Massey, Director of Facility Maintenance at The Blake at Flowood, grew up in central Mississippi and is a proud graduate of Mississippi State University. He brings over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial facility maintenance, landscape and turf management, and general construction. Throughout his career, James has contributed to the development and upkeep of several well-known projects across the Southeast.

In his leadership role at The Blake, James draws on the values instilled in him by his parents and grandparents—compassion, respect, and a servant’s heart. He believes in treating others with kindness and dignity, knowing that respect must be earned through action and integrity.

James resides in Rankin County with his wife, daughter, and their two golden retrievers. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, dabbling in photography, and embracing the natural beauty of the outdoors—a gift he sees as a blessing from God.

Michael Laskin is the Director of Dining Services at The Blake in Flowood. Born and raised in Jackson, he began his culinary journey in his father’s Po'' Boy Shoppe at the age of fifteen. His father taught him to appreciate each person who came through the door, as they were the most important people to walk in the door that day. Michael carried this mantra forward, understanding that the people he serves are the most paramount and rewarding part of the job. Whether cooking fine dining for Presidents, Governors, and Mayors, or at a counter service burger shop where he met his wife, everyone is afforded the same attention to detail and passion in cooking. He is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute/International Culinary Center in New York City. Michael loves the spirited conversations with residents and feels blessed to be a part of their everyday lives. When not at work, he can be found at his home in Ridgeland with his wife, Ashley, and their children, Zoe, Cayman, and Rhodes.
