Originally from Burlington, Iowa, Dawn R. Blake has lived in South Carolina for the past 26 years. She studied Business Management and Accounting and brings a diverse professional background to her role, including experience in accounting, human resources, and as the owner and manager of a general contracting company.

Dawn’s favorite part of working with seniors is hearing their stories and seeing the joy that lights up their faces as they share their life experiences. These meaningful connections are what fuel her passion for senior living.

Though new to The Barclay at Little River, Dawn is already loving her team and the supportive environment of the community.

Outside of work, she enjoys music and spending quality time with her granddaughters. Family is at the heart of everything she does.

Benitha George serves as the Reunion Program Coordinator at The Barclay at Little River, where she plays an essential role in supporting residents through personalized care and meaningful engagement. A native of Tabor City, North Carolina, Benitha brings over two decades of hands-on experience in senior care.

She is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with 22 years of experience and has served as a Medication Technician for the past 8 years. Her career has also included leadership roles such as Lead Med Tech and Care Coordinator, giving her a well-rounded perspective on resident care and team collaboration.

Benitha’s favorite part of working with seniors is listening to their stories and learning about their past experiences—a daily reminder of the wisdom and richness each resident brings to the community. At QSLM, she values the opportunity to care for others and truly make a difference in their lives.

Outside of work, Benitha enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and shopping.

Dawn is the Executive Director at Barclay House. Originally from Hartwell, Georgia, she has called Grovetown home for the past 17 years.

Dawn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Certified Assisted Living Administrator as well as a Certified Dementia Practitioner, a credential she earned while working at Barclay House. With a career spanning over 12 years in senior living and 8 years in hospice, Dawn brings a wealth of experience to her role. She began as a Director of Sales in her hometown and later transitioned to community education for hospice. Since moving to Augusta, she has opened two newly constructed assisted living communities as Executive Director and has also served as Administrator of a hospice agency.

Her favorite part of working with seniors is learning from them and listening to their stories. What she values most about working at QSLM is being part of a company that truly cares for both its residents and its staff.

When she's not working, Dawn enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Martie Ewest is the Director of Sales at Barclay House of Augusta. She was born and raised in the CSRA. She has 25 years of experience in the Senior Living industry in various roles. What she loves most about working with Seniors is the ability to have a positive impact on their lives and offering support to families in need. Martie’s favorite part about working at Barclay House of Augusta is “I love being a part of a team that is dedicated to providing compassionate care to residents and peace of mind to their families”. When she is not working, Martie enjoys spending time with her large family. She also enjoys reading, antiquing and traveling.
