Sheri York serves as the Executive Director for The Blake at Charlottesville. Originally from New Hampshire, Sheri made her move to the Charlottesville area in August of 2018. She has fifteen years of experience as a Deputy Finance Officer in Municipal Government. She ventured on a new journey when her heart pulled her to senior living. Sheri loves getting to know the residents, hearing about their lives, and learning from their experiences. When asked about her favorite part of working for The Blake, she says, “I love working at The Blake. It is such a positive work environment. Everyone is respected and valued. We have the best employees and leaders.” As a mother of five and grandma to three granddaughters, Sheri enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

HEATHER CLARK
DIRECTOR OF SALES
Heather Clark is the Director of Sales here at The Blake at Charlottesville. Prior to making the move into the Senior Living Industry, she had an extensive career as the Territory Manager for WW of Central Virginia. She shifted her focus to senior care after realizing she truly has a passion for the Senior Population. She is excited to assist individuals with the process of transitioning to an assisted living community, which sometimes can feel very overwhelming for the family. Her and her husband, Lance, raised two talented, successful daughters, who continue to make them proud. Before moving to Zion Crossroads to enjoy more free time and downsize, Heather and her family lived in Crozet, Virginia. Heather loves to walk, hike in our beautiful mountains, read, sit on her patio, and cook. Fun fact – Heather was born in Burlington, Iowa, and has lived in 8 states, including Michigan and Virginia twice.
Shikena Wrenn-Cureton
Assistant Director of Wellness
Shikena Wrenn-Cureton serves as the Assistant Director of Wellness at The Blake at Charlottesville. She’s originally from Newark, New Jersey. Shikena is a Licensed Practical Nurse, from Piedmont Virginia Community College. She also holds an Associate of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. She was experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, and assisted living, where she’s cared for older adults with a wide range of medical needs. Her background has helped her develop strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills while focusing on providing compassionate, individualized care.
Shikena’s favorite part of working with seniors is building meaningful relationships and making a positive difference in their daily lives. She enjoys listening to their stories, learning from their experiences, and helping them maintain the highest quality of life possible. Working for QSLM, she appreciates being part of a supportive team that truly cares about our residents. She feels that it’s rewarding to work in an environment where compassion, teamwork, and respect are valued every day.
When she’s not working, Shikena enjoys spending time with her family, reading, listening to music, caring for her plants, and finding new ways to grow professionally and personally.
Shikena believes that every resident deserves compassionate, respectful, and individualized care. She’s committed to lifelong learning and continuously improving her skills so she can provide the best possible care while growing as a healthcare leader.
Carol Basich
Director of Activities
Carol is originally from Southern California, but she moved to Charlottesville in 2020 to live near family. Carol has worked in senior living for over 5 years and she is a nationally certified activity director. During her father’s own battle with Alzheimer’s, she decided she wanted a career in assisted living. Her father’s community had a birthday party for him, and that is when she knew she wanted to work in the activity department. Carol's goal is to bring that same joy to seniors in her community. The Blake residents are not just residents to Carol they are her father, her mother, her grandfather, and her grandmother. She believes it is her pleasure to serve The Blake and she thoroughly enjoys her work. When not working Carol is busy having fun and enjoying life with her 4 sons. She is still adjusting to having actual weather and sometimes longs for days of sunny and 75.
Monica Crespo
Director of Memory Care
Originally from Colombia, South America, Monica moved to the U.S. when she was 19 years old to attend College in New Jersey at Rutgers University.
In 2004, Monica moved to Florida and began working at a very large Senior Day Center as a Life Enrichment Director. Over time, she was promoted to the Director role of their Memory Care center, and then eventually became Director of the 3 separate senior centers of the organization. During a typical day, the communities saw over 300+ clients.
After relocating to Charlottesville in 2023 with her family, she worked in an industry outside of Senior Living but always had that passion that brought her back to becoming the Memory Care Director at The Blake in December of 2025.
In her spare time, Monica enjoys visiting with her 3 children, one of which is in the U.S. Coast Guard and enjoying her dog (Dash) and her cat (Princess Leia).
Rick Randolph
Director Of Facility Management
Rick's role at The Blake is the Director of Facility Management. He is from Albemarle County, VA - born and raised. Rick is a Master Electrician and a Master Plumber. He has been a director of maintenance for 24 years and got into senior living facility management in 2011. His favorite part about his job is seeing the residents everyday and getting to hear their stories. When Rick isn't working he likes to hang out with his daughter, Kelsey, who just graduated from high school. He also enjoys hanging out on the river, fishing and snowboarding.
CORDELL RICHARDSON
DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES
Born in Orange, Virginia, Cordell has a long line of chefs on both sides of the family, including the late American chef Edna Lewis, who is his late grandmother's first cousin. He is passionate about cooking and creating food. He also has a love for sports, mainly boxing. Cordell is a real people person, and he loves what he does for the residents in general.
