Heather Clark is the Executive Director here at The Blake at Charlottesville. Prior to making the move into the Senior Living Industry, she had an extensive career as the Territory Manager for WW of Central Virginia. She shifted her focus to senior care after realizing she truly has a passion for the Senior Population. She is excited to assist individuals with the process of transitioning to an assisted living community, which sometimes can feel very overwhelming for the family. Her and her husband, Lance, raised two talented, successful daughters, who continue to make them proud. Before moving to Zion Crossroads to enjoy more free time and downsize, Heather and her family lived in Crozet, Virginia. Heather loves to walk, hike in our beautiful mountains, read, sit on her patio, and cook. Fun fact – Heather was born in Burlington, Iowa, and has lived in 8 states, including Michigan and Virginia twice.

Amanda Burke
Director of Sales

Amanda is the Director of Sales here at The Blake at Charlottesville. She is a Virginia native and was born and raised right here in Charlottesville.
Prior to making the move into the Senior Living Industry in 2020, Amanda worked in a variety of other sales positions. However, after the loss of her grandmother, Amanda, says she felt a calling to work with seniors and decided to make the switch.
Her favorite part of working with seniors is being able to help them navigate their senior living journey. She also says she loves having a whole building full of grandparents that she gets to see every day and build relationships with.
Amanda's favorite part about working at The Blake is her fellow team members. She enjoys how everyone is super friendly and respectful towards one another. She says that she truly loves coming to work with such a great team.
When she is not working, she enjoys snuggling up on the couch with her rescue dog, Buddy, and reading a good book. She also enjoys spending time with family, going to concerts, and exploring local wineries with friends.

Sheri Lilly, Director of Wellness at The Blake, is a Charlottesville local with over 28 years of experience in healthcare. A licensed practical nurse (LPN) from the Richmond School of Health & Technology, Sheri is passionate about working with seniors, cherishing her role in enhancing their quality of life and learning from the wisdom they share. She values the strong connections she's built with both residents and staff. Outside of work, Sheri enjoys spending time with her children and grandsons, going for walks, and participating in step classes.

Sheri York serves as the Director of Business Operations for The Blake at Charlottesville. Originally from New Hampshire, Sheri made her move to the Charlottesville area in August of 2018. She has fifteen years of experience as a Deputy Finance Officer in Municipal Government. She ventured on a new journey when her heart pulled her to senior living. Sheri loves getting to know the residents, hearing about their lives, and learning from their experiences. When asked about her favorite part of working for The Blake, she says, “I love working at The Blake. It is such a positive work environment. Everyone is respected and valued. We have the best employees and leaders.” As a mother of five and grandma to three granddaughters, Sheri enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Stephanie Whindleton, Director of Memory Care at The Blake, is a native of Palmyra, Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Mary Baldwin University and a Master of Social Work from the University of New England. With a diverse background as a child protective services investigator, mental health case manager, and hospice medical social worker, Stephanie brings extensive experience to her role. She treasures the opportunity to work with seniors, appreciating the wealth of stories, knowledge, and experiences they share. For her, making a positive impact on their lives and bringing a smile to their faces is the most rewarding part of her job. When not at The Blake, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and beloved pets, as well as indulging in her passion for shopping.

Amanda Richardson is the Assistant Director of Wellness at The Blake. A native of Palmyra, Virginia, I hold a certification in phlebotomy and have worked in various healthcare positions, including as a phlebotomist and medical assistant. My passion for helping others inspired me to return to school and pursue a career as a social worker. Throughout my career, I have served as a child protective investigator with the Department of Social Services, a Mental Health Case Manager for the Community Services Board, and a Medical Social Worker in hospice care. I find great joy in working with seniors, listening to their stories, and improving their quality of life. Working at The Blake, I love the compassionate atmosphere that feels like home. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Anthony, my two adult children, Caleb and Cameron, and our three dogs—Sigmund, Bentley, and Luca. I also enjoy gardening, creating cherished memories with family, and exploring new places.
Carol Basich

Carol is originally from Southern California, but she moved to Charlottesville in 2020 to live near family. Carol has worked in senior living for over 5 years and she is a nationally certified activity director. During her father’s own battle with Alzheimer’s, she decided she wanted a career in assisted living. Her father’s community had a birthday party for him, and that is when she knew she wanted to work in the activity department. Carol's goal is to bring that same joy to seniors in her community. The Blake residents are not just residents to Carol they are her father, her mother, her grandfather, and her grandmother. She believes it is her pleasure to serve The Blake and she thoroughly enjoys her work. When not working Carol is busy having fun and enjoying life with her 4 sons. She is still adjusting to having actual weather and sometimes longs for days of sunny and 75.
Brittany Klein
Walk With Me Coordinator

Brittany is from from Appomattox, Virginia. She previously worked as a direct service professional for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and it was at this position where she realized that she had a passion for healthcare. She started as an activity assistant at The Blake and worked her way up to the position of Walk With Me Coordinator. With a strong sense of compassion and joy fueling her to be the very best she can be, she is constantly putting a smile on the residents' faces. When she walks into the room, they already know that they're in for something fun! The way that the residents look out for her as if she was a part of their family reminds her of the great relationship she has with her own grandparents. When she isn't working, Brittany likes watching movies and going anywhere that has karaoke. She is a big fan of theatre, and she likes to go see musicals and plays every so often. She always strives to make people smile and laugh with silly jokes, and everyone at The Blake knows that she is "very punny!
Rick Randolph
Director Of Facility Management

Rick's role at The Blake is the Director of Facility Management. He is from Albemarle County, VA - born and raised. Rick is a Master Electrician and a Master Plumber. He has been a director of maintenance for 24 years and got into senior living facility management in 2011. His favorite part about his job is seeing the residents everyday and getting to hear their stories. When Rick isn't working he likes to hang out with his daughter, Kelsey, who just graduated from high school. He also enjoys hanging out on the river, fishing and snowboarding.
CORDELL RICHARDSON

Born in Orange, Virginia, Cordell has a long line of chefs on both sides of the family, including the late American chef Edna Lewis, who is his late grandmother's first cousin. He is passionate about cooking and creating food. He also has a love for sports, mainly boxing. Cordell is a real people person, and he loves what he does for the residents in general.
