Kathy Becker serves as the General Manager of Independent Living at The Barclay at Clemson, where she oversees daily operations and focuses on creating a welcoming, engaging community for residents and team members.
She’s originally from Pennsylvania, but she’s lived in the South longer than she ever did in the North. Clemson has been home for more than 12 years.
Kathy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Human Performance and Sports Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She’s also licensed in Long Term Care in South Carolina.
Before entering senior living, Kathy spent more than 20 years in college athletics. She coached basketball and held operations roles for both basketball and track and field, after playing collegiate basketball at the University of Virginia. Her background in leadership, team-building, and operations translates naturally into community management.
She absolutely loves getting to know residents, hearing their stories, sharing laughs, and enjoying each day with them. The relationships make coming to work something she genuinely looks forward to.
She feels that QSLM’s mission truly resonates with her. Serving others and helping seniors live their best lives—while receiving the highest quality of care during their golden years—is meaningful and rewarding work.
Outside of work, Kathy is a proud “mom Uber,” spending most of her time driving her kids to their sports and activities.
Kathy is passionate about creating a community where seniors feel valued, supported, and at home, and where every day is filled with purpose and connection.
