Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Isabela brings a rich cultural and academic background to her role at The Blake. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Texas, an Associate's Degree in Anthropology from Austin Community College, and an Associate's Degree in French from Alliance Française in Rio de Janeiro. Her passion for learning and cultural exploration enhances the activities she leads, including the French Social Club, Current Events Club, and Armchair Travels. With over 25 years of experience as a French and Portuguese teacher, Isabela has worked with Berlitz Schools in Brazil, Europe, and Austin, Texas. For the past two years, she has dedicated herself to senior living as an Activities Professional, creating engaging programs that bring joy, enrichment, and wellness to residents. Her background in dance—including nine years of classical ballet training with a Russian instructor and four years of jazz and modern dance—has inspired her to develop a fun and beneficial "Stretch/Jazz" program for seniors, promoting both movement and music appreciation. She finds immense joy in cultural activities, music events, and helping residents stay active, informed, and socially engaged. A true global citizen, Isabela has lived in Brazil, France, Portugal, and Germany, embracing different cultures and perspectives along the way. She became a U.S. citizen in 2008 but considers herself a "Citizen of the World," always eager to learn about new places, people, and traditions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, studying, and spending time at the beach. She also loves dining out, going to the movies with friends, and unwinding with a Netflix movie, a glass of wine, and her dog in a comfy LazyBoy at the end of the day. Isabela’s passion for lifelong learning, cultural enrichment, and wellness makes her an invaluable part of The Blake community, where she continues to inspire and uplift residents through engaging activities and meaningful connections.
